Finding Support for Survivors of Trauma in Columbus, Ohio

Are you a survivor of trauma in Columbus, Ohio in need of support? You are not alone! Starks Counseling, in collaboration with the Columbus Department of Health, offers a traumatic grief support group for siblings of children who have passed away due to violence. This group meets on the fourth Monday of each month at the Department of Columbus. Additionally, LOSS provides 10- and 8-week support groups for survivors of suicide loss that start in January, March, June, and September. These peer support groups are facilitated by an experienced leader and provide a safe space for survivors to obtain information and mutual support.

Childcare is available during some sessions. The CTAP provides outpatient counseling for individuals and offers groups throughout the year that include trauma-based yoga and iREST meditation. The CTAP also provides comprehensive training and consultation to community organizations and providers on trauma-based care and best practices. Our team also attends community outreach events to connect community members and providers to our services.

When a community is affected by a loss, Cornerstone of Hope can provide support and education in a variety of ways. These groups are led by experienced, professionally trained facilitators who strive to cultivate a safe and supportive healing environment. The Mid Ohio Traumatic Loss Response Team provides free post-prevention support to survivors of suicide or overdose losses in Delaware, Morrow, Marion, and Crawford counties.
